9th European Conference on Gender Equality in Higher Education (and Research)

The French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the Université Paris Diderot, and the Université Sorbonne Paris Cité (USPC), with support from the French Ministry for National Education, Higher Education and Research, is inviting researchers, professors, administrators, policy-makers, practitioners and students to Paris, on 12-14 September 2016, to attend the 9th European Conference on Gender Equality in Higher Education.
National Learning Circle at TU
21st June 2016
The TU 2016 National Learning Circle will take place on the 21st June 2016. The main aim is to describe and introduce activities within the project and the "GENOVATE model", as a deliverable led by TU and UNIBRAD on behalf of the Consortium. Rector of Trnava University, the Dean of the Faculty of the Health Sciences and Social Work, the members of IAB, external stakeholders and the specialists in the field of the gender issues in Slovakia will be invited. We are very happy, that internationally recognised gender equality expert Dr. Barbara Thiessen from Germany will take part in this session. Further details will be posted later.

National Learning Circle at UNIBRAD

UNIBRAD is currently planning the next National Learning Circle (NLC) to take place on 1st June 2016. This Learning Circle will provide a forum for stakeholders to engage in dialogue, knowledge building, and to share experience and findings of the GENOVATE project to date. This event will allow us to discuss GENOVATE tools, project achievements so far, and end-project goals. The NLC will be hosted as a full day event with workshops and presentations throughout the day. We look forward to your support and input.

Launch of the GENOVATE@UCC Hub
GENOVATE@UCC is launching the GENOVATE HUB in May 2016. The HUB collates GENOVATE@UCC's resources for promoting gender equality through the university into a single platform. The process of its development is staged: it presently includes infographics and briefing notes of GENOVATE’s eight gender equality actions for the university; other resources including tools (for supporting implementation of the aforesaid actions) and working papers are forthcoming. Gender Summit 8 North & Latin America 2016
28th-29th April 2016, Mexico City
This Gender Summit will highlight how science can be a tool to break many borders: gender, geographic, disciplinary and educational. The GS8 will introduce the Latin American perspective to the second North American Gender Summit and will move towards an exercise of a multi-sector dialogue and a multidisciplinary reflection that enriches the development of policy instruments for gender equality in the field of science and technology.
Final GENOVATE convention

Due to unforeseen circumstances this convention is no longer a public event. Instead this will be an opportunity for the consortium to share experiences of institutional GEAP implementation and to collaboratively focus on future GENOVATE activities.

She has shared the practical meaning of gender sensitive management and relied to the questions raised by senate members. Senate members also shared their own experiences during the seminar
Gender Dimension in a Training Programme for Research Managers

The first Gender and Diversity workshop has been carried out for research managers participating in the EARMA certificate programme. Evelina Brännvall, Research funding specialist at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden and Esther Philips, Grant Advisor at Leiden University, Netherlands participate in the training programme with ten other European colleagues and reflect on the outcome of the workshop.

After a successful first edition in 2011, the European Commission has launched the second edition of the EU Prize for Women Innovators to reward three women who have developed outstanding innovations and brought them to market.
The contest is open until 15 October 2013, 5:00pm (Brussels time) to all women who have founded or co-founded their own company and who have at some point in their career benefited from the EU's research framework programmes or the Competitiveness and Innovation framework programme.
The first prize is EUR 100,000, second prize EUR 50,000 and the third prize EUR 25,000.
With this prize, the European Commission aims to raise awareness about the contribution, potential and importance of Women researchers to entrepreneurship and to encourage women to exploit the commercial and business opportunities offered by their research projects and become entrepreneurs.
